Mio slept, well... she hardly slept. After Mizuki had left, Mio had waited around for Kano to get out of the shower. Once he did, she passed him quickly enough to slip by without a word. Letting the hot water rush down her face, she began to wonder where this was leading; or, she should say, where Kano wanted this to go to? It was obvious Mizuki liked him! Anyone who couldn't see that was a dumb-butt. Was Kano truly that daft? No, Mio thought he was probably attracted to her as well. Oh well, what did Mio really know? She was out of experience in all things social and was just going along with the flow.

Emerging from the bathroom in an oversized t-shirt and shorts, she eyed Kano carefully. He was already passed out asleep on her bed. Topless. Lovely. She thought about Mizuki with a sneaky grin and held in her laughter. Oh, how cruel this really was; Mio sobered quickly as she climbed into bed with a frown. As far away from Kano as possible, she began to drift to sleep.

That was before Kano kept attempting to take control of the entire bed. Struggling to keep Kano's long arms and legs off of her, Mio struggled about by wriggling around like a fish. Over and over Mio fought with the sleeping Kano, and all the more Mio wished that everything was out in the open. Finally, with Kano's arms over Mio's back and her cheek planted onto her pillow, Mio began to calm down.

Thoughts of her parents began to drift into her head. She missed them; she missed having people who truly cared about her. People who wanted to take care of her. Someone who wanted her. She never felt so sick of the island until that moment. Here she was, being a chess piece on a gameboard of a gangster. Her parents would be so proud. But then again, it wasn't her place to say anything to Mizuki. Nausea gripped Mio like a snake around its prey, but she clamped her hand across her mouth and fell asleep.

Of course she didn't really believe the rumors of this place. Mio's thoughts were trying to focus as she rode the small boat out to Telmina. Listening to the boat's captain wasn't helping, and Mio struggled to divert her attention from him as he kept going on and on. Bloody massacres, he said. Exactly what I need, Mio thought dryly to herself. Cold ocean water splashed up onto the sides of the boat as they rode through a wave, and the water managed to jump onto her dress and drip down her legs.
"You'd best protect yourself when ya land." He spoke roughly and with a lot of slang, as Mio did.
"And why is that?"
"All sorts of monsters will be grabbin' yer legs and whatnot if you keep wearing clothes like that, missy."
"Thanks for the advice." Mio replied while giving him a thumbs up. Yeah right, she thought instead. Monsters my-
"Well we're here! My number is in the hotel if you'd like to give me a call to get away from this hell-hole." He pulled the boat up to the dock and Mio slung her bag over her shoulder and hopped happily out and onto the rickety boards.
"Head straight on past the beach and you'll find it. Stay on the path, no matter what."
"Thank you." Was Mio's reply as she warily eyed the dock while walking quickly as possible over to the beach. Bits of sand made their way into Mio's sandals as she flip-flopped her way across the beach and past the little fishing huts. She noticed smoke rising above the trees, and what appeared to be (and smelled like) fish cooking over a fire. A blast of warm, humid wind caught the smoke and blew it roughly at her. Coughing a little, she continued down the pathway and finally reached the opening of the village. Small and appeared barely civilized, but she didn't mind. Just another adventure. Time to check in!

She made her way inside the somewhat dimly lit lobby and was greeted by an ancient old woman. Nervously, Mio claimed a room as her own and managed to get inside within 5 minutes. She eyed her surroundings carefully. Stained and tattered old wallpaper decorated the walls of the tiny room, with but a bed, nightstand, desk and small wardrobe to keep company. Dropping her bag onto her bed, Mio's eye caught a dark stain on one side of the wall. Peering in closer to confirm her first thoughts, she grinned mockingly at the stain of blood on the wall.
"Guess they don't care too much for appearances now, do they?" She wondered out loud. Deciding to look around and explore, Mio grabbed her purse and slung it over her neck and left the room, in hopes of...well, who knows what.
